So PJ is back from his vacation so we can work on the blog and stuff. We are planning to make a video to upload. (I already made 2 vlogs but I haven't uploaded them.) A new From my Library post is coming soon and I have A LOT of reading to catch up on. I'm nearing an end to Uglies and I will then finish Hunger which I'm about halfway through. That's all I guess...

The Merchant of Death
D.J. MacHale
Rating:A
Pages: 372
Age Range: 12+
I found the first Pendragon in a small library in New Hampshire. I thought it seemed a little odd but decided to try it. From the very first page I was hooked. I was shocked at how awesome it was!
The story is about a boy named Bobby Pendragon who's uncle tells him he is a traveler. A traveler has the ability to go between different worlds. He soon finds himself on a territory called Denduron where he finds out he must save the territory from total destruction.
The character Bobby is well made up. Some books make the characters completely understand their call to duty which I hate. If somebody told you that you had to go fight a giant monster to save the world would you just be like "Cool. I don't have any problems against that!" which is why I liked The Merchant of Death. The plot was very fast and was just overall great!
There are 9 more books in the Pendragon series which PJ and I will review. They're all by DJ Machale and no co-authors. Bye!

City of Bones
Cassandra Clare
Rating: A+
Pages: 512
Age Rating: 13+
City of Bones starts with a bang and it doesn't stop there. The entire book was a thrill ride filled with tons of amazing twist and turns.
The book is about a girl named Clary who discovers these people called Shadow Hunters. The Shadow Hunters kill demons and stuff like that. Then, Clary's mom disappears and the adventure begins. (Okay, so that was a TOTALLY lame summary. The book is great so don't judge it on my lame summary. It's just so hard to summarize!)
The plot is fast-paced and brilliant in every possible way. The writing was great, the way Cassandra Clare describe things carefully and in detail and the characters were amazing. If the characters were any more well written I would literally explode. The book was actually very humorous too and there was some romance that was interesting.
There are 2 more books in the series called City of Ashes and City of Glass which I will be reading soon.

Gone
Gone
Michael Grant
Rating: B+
Pages: 576
Age Range: 12+
I picked up Gone at Barnes & Nobles saying ,"Hey! This looks really good!" It was really good but it defiantly wasn't flawless. Sam Temple is sitting in his class when suddenly, his teacher disappears. It turns out that everyone 15 and over has disappeared and a barrier has surrounded the town of Perdido beach. Things could NOT get much worse but of course, they do. Kids start mutating, getting powers and of course animals are mutating as well, creating talking coyotes and flying snakes.
So you can tell the plot is fast paced because using parent disappearances, powers, mutations, and huge barriers, you've got a lot to work with. There were lots of twist and turns in the book so I was glued to it. But the one main flaw were the characters. AHHHH! The characters were SO boring. Sam was really plain and his friend/girlfriend Astrid had no personality. Maybe you guys disagree but I am stuck with my decision.
Gone is the first book of a 6 book series but only the second one is out.
